About Me

Hello and thank you for visiting!

As you may have read from the header, I’m a voiceover artist. I didn’t plan on being one, but along the way, I got waylaid, put in a padded room with a script, a cool looking mic and a rather large pair of headphones and discovered that I really enjoyed it.

I was originally trained in audio and video production during an apprenticeship with a local production house back in the 90s when, as I say, I got waylaid by the audio engineers (in a male dominated office/studio), who desperately needed a female voice (that would be me by default) for an inhouse Cold Storage promotional spot. The rest as they say, is history.

I have loved the spoken word since young, starting from around age 8 when my dad would record me reading stories aloud and – this part I didn’t enjoy – have me listen to the playback! I got used to it though, and I would volunteer to read religious texts in school as well as promotional announcements over the PA system when I started working part-time for some extra pocket money. I’d like to think I’ve improved a little since.

I believe that a voiceover is a means of communication, whether factual or heartfelt, that should always serve the content and ultimately, the audience.

I adjust my tone, style and accent, based on the content type, feel, the required voice age profile, accompanying music, audience, and of course, the client’s directions, and I endeavour to be as efficient as possible, saving precious studio time.

My accent can be best described as refined Singaporean but I can also lean towards UK or US and I can most certainly sound more colloquial Singaporean if necessary.

I guess I’ll stop here and let you explore the important bits in the site.

Thanks again for visiting and I hope we get to work together soon.
